A Great Career Starts Here

Interview Preparation

  • Research the Company.
  • Find out the type of interview either telephone or face to face and panel interviews.
  • For panel interviews try to find out who, how many and the role of the person within the organisation who will be conducting the interview.
  • Always try to arrive early for the interview. Contact the employer or Agency if you are running late or cannot attend.

Presentation

  • Always dress smart and business-like for interviews.

The Interview

  • Speak clearly and answer questions directly. If you are unsure about a particular question, then you can always ask for it to be repeated.
  • Make eye contact when speaking or spoken to. Do not wave your hands about or fidget, sit on your hands or cross your legs if this makes it easier for you.
  • It is not always necessary to take your portfolio, references, certificates etc.  If you do, offer these at the end of the interview.
  • You should be informed at the end of the interview how long the decision making process will take.
  • Only discuss salary if raised by the potential employer.  You should have an idea of this prior to the interview.
  • Show enthusiasm.

Good Luck!
